Work In-Progress

22 May

I’m working on some new drawings right now that I’m pretty excited about. I’m really plugging away to get a few more pieces finished for my June show at Dubsea. I thought I’d share them with you all today in their half-finished state.

New Drawing: Dream Composition #1

14 May

11″ x 14″
ink & gouache on paper

This drawing is from a dream. It was actually something I drew in a dream. Typically if I dream a composition I cannot remember it come morning but this time was different.

Illustration Friday: Mesmerizing

5.5″ x 6″
ink & gouache on paper

I think I watched too many Michele Bachmann videos last night. She’s mesmerizing, but not in a good way.

New Drawing: Dream Scene #1

19 Mar

9″ x 12″
ink & gouache on paper

I’ve been really focusing on finishing up a bunch of old drawings lately. I’m slowly getting through all these half finished pieces. I’m even starting to think about what new work I’ll start soon. I’ve been starting a few things here and there figuring when I finish these I’ll be ready to tackle some newer ideas.

This drawing is available on Society 6.

Valentines Commission

1 Mar

8″ x 8″
ink and gouache on paper

This is a commission I created for a husband to give to his wife for Valentine’s Day. This is the first drawing I’ve done with no human beings. It was challenging but fun.

The Big Mother

28 Feb

11″ x 14″
ink, gouache and self leveling gel on strathmore dry media paper

Finally, a new drawing! I can’t really call it new since I actually started this drawing when I still lived in New York City more that 1.5 years ago! Trying to find the balance between starting new drawings and completing old ones does not appear to be my strong point! I’m determined to complete some of these older pieces and to have a steadier stream of new work.

This is the first piece that I have posted on a site, Society 6. It looks like a really interesting site and I’m excited to give it a try.
