New Drawing: Healer

11 Jul

"Healer" 11" x 14", ink & gouache on paper

I recently finished this drawing as a gift for a friend. He lives in the community that I live in and has an enormous amount of love and healing energy which he shares freely with those around him. I felt that I really wanted to create something for him to show him how much I appreciate him and his knowledge. As soon as I decided to create a drawing for him this image sprung into my mind.

I have lots of drawings that I am working on right now. Here is a quick sampling of some of the pieces.

New Drawing: Burlington

This drawing came from a dream I had. I was running through a cemetery in Burlington, VT with my daughter. The details of the actual dream now are shady but I remember the cartoonish sunflower-like flowers all over the hill and we fled something in horror.

Illustration Friday: Deja vu

10 Jan

A new drawing for my favorite weekly project: Illustration Friday

This is inspired by a recurring dream I had as a child. In the evening I would get an intense sense of deja vu and this would be the tip-off that I would have the dream again. The dream was visually like a Dali painting, no narrative. Just 4 surreal landscape in succession. The final landscape was filled with falling tumbling rock and petrified wood. Even though it has been at least 13 years since I last had this dream I had it so many times I can remember it in minute and terrifying detail.

Prints are here!

10 Nov

I’ve been meaning to add prints of my drawings to my Etsy shop for ages. Tonight seemed like the right time to work on this. I’ve added 3 prints of black & white drawings. They are printed on a dark natural cardstock that is 30% recycled and archival quality.

If you buy 3 prints I’ll even send you a free Noodle Greeting Card as a thank you.

Click on any of the above pictures to go directly to Etsy. I’ll be adding more prints over the coming days.

Ink and gouache on Stonehenge 100% Cotton Paper

This is my first completed drawing in Patagonia, Arizona! I’m very pleased to be drawing again. It is crazy how out of practice I am after a few months of not drawing regularly. I secretly enjoy this figures strange mutant features.

I have to apologize for the quality of the reproduction. I will be without my scanner for sometime and need to hammer out a good way of getting the drawings online with minimal photographic resources. Hopefully I work something out. At some point I’ll rescan this and reload it.

Social Networking & Surprise…More Etsy

20 May

I’m kind of addicted to the computer right now. For a good cause though. I’d really like to move and to move I need to find some new income. Hence Etsy and my endless posting about it. I am working on some new pieces though. I’m also playing around with some new sites as well in an effort to drive traffic to Etsy.

I have to admit to having a bit of a closet social media site obsession. I still remember good ole clunky friendster, never loading properly but giving me my first taste of socializing without all the messy face-to-face. Hell, some of my best friends have been made on-line. It seemed time, with the encouragement of Etsy of course, to explore some new sites.

Krop Creative Database

Krop is one of the ones I’ve been exploring tonight. It is a very simple design for creative professionals. I do not have a paid membership but the basic ten image portfolio is pretty. I’ll see if anything comes of it.

Virb

Virb is the other site I’m exploring. It’s a bit more complicated, a little clunky but it seems like it might have potential. I like it because I gave my profile a yellow background, yum.

And of course my daily shop update. I added a new drawing, painting, skirt and tea set. Yay!
