This drawing is from a dream. It was actually something I drew in a dream. Typically if I dream a composition I cannot remember it come morning but this time was different.

This drawing is somewhere between a commission and a drawing that I came up with. A client of mine came in and wanted to see my new work and work in progress. I showed her everything I had going at that moment. Now mind you, I don’t sketch or draw things out in pencil to start with. So my “sketches” are more like notes to myself so can remember my initial idea.
This drawing originally was pulled from a rather ominous dream. I wanted to remember it so on the 18″ x 24″ paper I drew the face of the figure and 2 birds. When my client saw this drawing that was all that was there. I told her my initial idea and then she threw out a few ideas. From this collaboration came this drawing. The title is pulled from a song by one of my favorite bands, Miniature Tigers.

This is a recent commissioned piece which I completed. I really enjoyed this project thoroughly. As usual the client gave me a list of words and I interpreted them in the drawing. Some of the words she gave me were phoenix, birds and butterflies.
I think these custom drawings are some of my favorite projects right now.
I recently finished this drawing as a gift for a friend. He lives in the community that I live in and has an enormous amount of love and healing energy which he shares freely with those around him. I felt that I really wanted to create something for him to show him how much I appreciate him and his knowledge. As soon as I decided to create a drawing for him this image sprung into my mind.

Finally, a new drawing! I can’t really call it new since I actually started this drawing when I still lived in New York City more that 1.5 years ago! Trying to find the balance between starting new drawings and completing old ones does not appear to be my strong point! I’m determined to complete some of these older pieces and to have a steadier stream of new work.
This is the first piece that I have posted on a site, Society 6. It looks like a really interesting site and I’m excited to give it a try.
